Garnet Sanding Sheets

Virginia Abrasives was started by The BARTON Group® in 1971 as a use for the garnet abrasives that were being mined at their mines in upstate New York. Garnet is the material of choice for waterjet cutting and surface preparation. 

Garnet abrasives retain an ever-sharp crystalline structure, which makes it the world standard. Used in the aerospace, electronics, stone, shipyard, municipality and defense industries, these abrasives work beautifully on wood and other materials.
